a Kalamazoo (Kyle)
Standing at Stud, is Kyle. He is the most loving, kind, sweet stallion you will ever come across. Passing on this personality is worth it's weight in gold. Nice bone structure, big smooth as glass trot, willing personality. Very sensitive and trainable. More to come on Kyle! Read about him in the "Life at Mecca" blog. More photos of Kyle in the galleries.
Cypress (aka BART SIMPSON)
MECCA FOUNDING HORSE: This is the horse that started it all. He came to me a scared, scrawny, almost wild BLM Mustang. He was adopted from the Oregon BLM by someone who got way in over their head with the task of taking care of a wild mustang. He was covered in lice, had hair missing, bad feet and little training. This horse scared me to death at first because he was so scared himself. He would spook into me, jump 5 feet in the air, pull away from me, was terrified of the hose and the folding chair in the corner and he had no manners to boot. In time he came around with training and confidence building and proved he was going to be a pretty cool horse. This horse has taught me so much about his kind. He's taught me to be brave and to be a good leader. He taught me that sometimes beauty lies deep and it can take a long time to surface. When the fear was gone and his personality emerged, he proved to have quite an opinion about living with us humans. He will give you 100% when he is convinced there is a purpose to it. His nick name is Bart Simpson because he has that whole "prove to me this is a good idea or eat my shorts!" I am constantly having to prove to him that all of this is a good idea. Dressage is a good idea, really Cypress! This horse knows it all and wants to jump to 3rd level before he's completed training level! He wants to be done with it and go for a good canter in the woods. His personality is A+ in my book... I guess I have a soft spot for punk kids! He can demand attention or softly press his head into your chest for a hug. He's absolutely love-able but he makes you work for it. Cypress is now a 15.2 hh, 1400 lb. teddy bear. Cypress is now available for a small schedule of lessons as he is my personal horse. I love Cypress and this barn is here because of him and the courage he has given me.
Flame(GREAT BALLS OF FIRE)
Flame is a western horse that can be ridden english as well. He is 15hh and full of energy. He needs a confident rider but does ok with confident beginners. He is a blast to ride and beautiful to look at too! He is used at this time for dressage lessons for the more advanced rider.
Najah
Najah is that great horse that knows his stuff and is safe for beginners as well as advanced. He is trained in english and western and also dressage. He is light in the bridle, fun to ride, and a real sweetie.
Rooster
Rooster is a registered paint. He is trained to the hilt in western. This little guy will knock your socks off when you find all his buttons. His jog is to die for! Rooster is such a character, you can't help but love him! He is great for children as well as advanced adults. He also goes english. Contact Mecca directly. Roo LOVES being scratched!
Taffy
Tristan
Tristan is such a diamond. He's tough as nails but completely SAFE FOR ANYONE to ride. He has the smoothest little canter ever. Most of our beginning students learn to canter on Tristan. He is so very patient and so very kind to children and beginners. All he asks for in return is LOTS of treats. He will be your best friend in exchange for any kind of treat! He is older, but has tons of spunk! He is small but solid as a rock! He is Athena Snapp's horse, but she shares him in our lesson and lease program.
Yukon
Yukon is that great steady bombproof horse that can teach you so much. He is used for English/dresage and Jumping lessons. He is that great school master that can switch gears for any level. We love Yukon!
